The ‘o’ in the letterforms is designed to nestle into the ‘k’ representing the navel, and both a rising and setting sun. A sun rising in her new home of Boise and a setting sun of her former life on Maui. Additionally, she grew up in Kula on the slopes of Haleakala, which means ‘house of the rising sun.’
Piko Design is a jewelry shop in Boise, Idaho. Founder, Erica Howell, needed branding to reflect her beautiful, handmade designs as well as nod her own origin story. Born and raised on Maui, Erica chose the name Piko, which is Hawaiian for the navel – or where life begins.
We also created a ‘Made in Boise’ mark to be used along side the secondary logo for usecases needing more transparency on the origin of the jewelry.
